Kirsi Peltomäki is an artist, art historian, writer and curator.

Peltomäki has an undergraduate degree in Time-Space -based Art from the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki, Finland (1993), a MFA in Art and Critical Studies from the California Institute of the Arts (1996) and an MA and PhD in Visual and Cultural Studies from the University of Rochester (2002).

Peltomäki’s artwork has been exhibited in galleries and museums, including the Kunsthalle Helsinki and the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Finland, and her work is held in public and private collections.

She has taught at the University of Rochester, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneso, the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, Finland, Tampere Polytechnic in Finland, and Oregon State University, where she is current professor of contemporary art history.
